Hello, my name is Jemima, nice to meet you!
I am a Creative Thinker, Digital Marketer, fashion lover and passionate drinker of tea. I was born in Hong Kong, both my parents are from England and I grew up in Germany.
I have an immense interest in art and all things related to design. I realised at school that I probably wasn’t talented enough to be an artist in the classical sense but found that I could channel my creativity in other ways. I have a great eye for aesthetics and a strong sense of perfectionism when it comes to making things „look good“. From styling a photoshoot to redesigning a website or creating an eyecatching online presence.
My first love is fashion, my second communication. I believe Marketing can be so much more than selling products to customers. It tells the story of a brand, creates interactions with people and builds relationships.
I currently work at glore, one of the first Online shops for sustainable fashion in Germany. Here I have experienced the many aspects of Online Marketing first hand. From SEO, Webdesign, Social Media, E-Mail Marketing and Influencer Marketing – being a one-woman-Marketing team means I oversee all aspects of our Marketing strategy and am single-handedly in charge of all communication channels. This covers, amongst other things, Social Media, the weekly newsletter, blogposts and making regular updates to the website.
My talent for project management has developed over the years. It started with creating campaigns and strategies for real companies while at uni, e.g. the Branding for the local fire station to conducting my own project while interning at one of Germanys leading advertising agencies Serviceplan. From there I have managed projects at software giant SAP, sustainable swimwear brand Ruby Moon and currently at sustainable fashion (online and brick-and-mortar) store glore. I have come to appreciate my habit of thinking of the bigger picture. Being an (over-)thinker comes in handy when planning projects. I go through each step in my head to make sure I have thought (and re-thought) through every aspect of a project I am taking on.
As well as being the Marketing Manager for glore, I also work as the Store Manager for glore Heidelberg. There is nothing I enjoy more than talking to customers face-to-face and assisting them in their quest to find sustainable, well made clothes. The role of Store Manager is multifaceted and never boring. From day-to-day tasks that make sure everything is running smoothly to attending fashion week and deciding which items to order for the new season. An outcome-oriented mindset is key.
